D-DAY EDUCATION PACK AND WALKING TOUR
Our D-Day education pack offers a riveting and personal account of some of the 3.5 million troops who, after inscribing their names in graffiti-like fashion on a brick wall, embarked from Southampton on their way to the Normandy beaches. Our pack includes information about the D-Day Wall, its context, and the names upon it, with suggested activities for studying the wall and finding out more. This project can be tied to the National Curriculum at all levels, including History Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.
Fancy stepping back in time (literally) with our walking tour of Southampton? Visit the D-Day Wall along with a number of other sites across the City where plaques and memorials commemorate its Second World War heritage. Our tour pack comes complete with a map and instructions on how to find each location. This is an excellent opportunity to get outdoors and explore history in a fun and engaging way.
